Mary Mediatrix

The painting of Mary Mediatrix is located in one of the Basilica's chapels. Our Blessed Mother stands with open arms, praying for Mercy for humanity. She welcomes the Word Made Flesh into her Immaculate Heart, represented by the Host resting on the lily. The Woman promised by God in Genesis 3:15 who crushes the head of the serpent; the victory over evil, symbolized by the rainbow.
