Women's Catholic Scripture Study
St. Mark Catholic Church
325 Marine View Drive, Belmont, CA 94070
Thursday mornings: 9:45am to 12 noon
We started in 2003 with a small group of women who fit around one table. Over the years we grew to a lively community of 70 women at one point. Like all ministries, the Covid pandemic had a big impact on our numbers, but we are happy to say that we are still growing strong.
We hope YOU will join us in September 2026 for our next study:
The Gospel According to Mark: A Look at the Son of God
The Gospel According to Mark is the shortest, most fast-paced and action-focused of the four Gospels. In this 26-week study we will get to know Jesus better as we walk with him in his public ministry as he performs miracles, heals people, and offers himself on the cross for our salvation. This journey will provide comfort and encouragement for hard times and also challenge us to follow Jesus in service and self-sacrifice.
We will begin Thursday, September 17, 2026 and end May 13, 2027 (with a seven-week break for Thanksgiving/Christmas and a few Thursdays off for Easter and other Spring Holidays).
Participants prepare by reading the Bible passages and writing answers for the home-study questions. Our gatherings include an opening session, small-group discussions, and a wrap-up reflection. On first-Thursdays of the month, members are also invited to enjoy lunch together.
