Lesson One: Mark 1-45
The Temptation of Jesus in the Desert (Mark 1:12-13)
You may be interested in listening to this reading from The Mystical City of God by Venerable Mary of Ágreda (1602-1665). This reading is from book 3 of the four volume set, from chapter 25, paragraph #276 to all of chapter 26. In this (Church approved) account, we learn of all that Jesus did for us in this battle with Satan and of the Blessed Virgin Mary's participation from Nazareth.
Note: The numbering of the Psalms differs slightly in older versions of the Bible. While reading, I realized that the reference to Psalm 90 is actually Psalm 91 in the Bible we use for our Bible Study (Revised Standard Version, Second Catholic Edition). Earlier there was a reference to Psalm 51, but it appears as Psalm 50 in The Mystical City of God.
