Mission of Mercy

Saint Pope John Paul II wrote his encyclical "Rich in Mercy" in November 30, 1980. The next year he visited the Sanctuary of Merciful Love on November 22, 1981. He returned again on April 17, 1982 to give the church at the Sanctuary the title of "minor basilica." In this photo, he shows his affection for Mother Esperanza.

"It is 'God, who is rich in mercy' whom Jesus Christ has revealed to us as Father: It is His very Son who, in Himself, has manifested Him and made Him known to us."
